Lesson 1

Identify & Describe 2-D shapes

In this first lesson, children recap on the names and properties of some common 2D shapes. They will identify and describe 2D shapes as they develop an understanding of terms such as: sides, corners, regular, irregular, polygon and quadrilateral. Your class will use this knowledge to help them describe and distinguish between different shapes. In their independent activities, your children can use their knowledge of 2D shapes to play a game in pairs or match up descriptions to the correct shapes.
