A Revealing Life

This first lesson introduces your class to Muhammad and tells the story of his early life and his subsequent revelations from the Angel Gabriel. They will consider how Muhammad might have felt when he realised he was a prophet, as well as identifying similarities and differences between Muhammad and other religious figures.

His Historical Impact

This lesson studies what happened after Muhammad's first revelations and goes on to explore what he was like from first-hand accounts. Children will read what people said about him to help them identify key features of his personality. There is also the chance to compare Muhammad with other people who changed the world.

Your class will find out about the Qur'an and some of the ways in which it is treated by Muslims during this lesson, as well as finding out about its history and contents. They will consider the concept of the Qur'an being the literal word of God and find out about some of the ways in which the Qur'an is treated to reflect this belief.

Explore how Muhammad's actions, morals and teachings make him an inspiration and role-model for Muslims today and find out some of the things Muhammad spoke about during his life.

This final lesson gives your class the opportunity to relate the experience of Muslims to their own lives as they think about who the role-models are in their own lives and why. They will consider why Muhammad is a role-model and some of the ways in which Muslims try to emulate the way he lived his life before identifying people in their own lives who inspire them.
